Year 1 and 2 went to Buckfast Abbey yesterday. They had a really good time and received lots of positive comments about the way they were working together - we were very pleased with them all.

Hockey Tournament

We're were really pleased with Fred, Gilbert, Joe and Toby who were chosen to represent Mid-Devon at Hockey in the Games to Inspire event. Well done all of them.

Year 5 perform 'Esther' at Crediton Arts Festival

Our Year 5 class performed their version of the story of Esther to an audience of two hundred people yesterday at the Crediton Arts Festival. They all worked really well together - making sure they were in the right place at the right time. They said they felt nervous but we were really pleased that they kept going and were very impressed with their performance. The children who had lines to deliver did so superbly. We'd like to thank the team at Crediton Arts for organising this great event and also Graeme Mearns, a parent at our school, who helped to direct the play.

Year 3 visit Rosemoor

Year 3 visited RHS Rosemoor today as an introduction to the learning they are doing about rocks and soils. There are lots of pictures here, but they show just what a good day it was.

Y6 Residential

Here are some photos from the Y6 residential on Dartmoor. The children returned to school today and have been talking with their instructors about what they have learnt. There have been lots of individual challenges met and lots of opportunities to grow together as a group. We're glad to have them all home now!

Birds, Bats and Sound Maps

We were pleased on Monday that a number of parents worked with staff from Ambios and school on a Family Learning Project called 'Birds, Bats and Sound Maps' Groups created sound maps using paper and then digital technology. The words below are from their feedback about the session: Wordle: Sandford School Family Workshop - Birds, Bats and Sound Maps

Bow Garden Centre

Reception and Year 1 made a visit this morning to Bow Garden Centre. Year 1 learnt about 'sensory' plants and Reception about planting seeds. Thank you very much to all who made the visit possible.

Tag Rugby triumph!

We were very proud of our Tag Rugby team who on Saturday won the finals of the Exeter Chiefs' tournament. The children played really well as a team and were strong defensively and in attack. Thank you to Pam Wood, Alice May and Mandy Cullen for organising the team and and to all the parents who brought them along and supported them.

Tag rugby success

We were so pleased with both our Rugby teams at Thursday's tournament at Sandy Park. Our 'A' Team were tournament champions, but only having been defeated by the 'B' team in the group stages! All children performed brilliantly - working so well together as a team.
