We were delighted today to be visited by the author Ellen Renner. She answered our questions, read from her book, looked at our Learning Logs (which had been about her) and talked to us about our own writing.
Our school council did a great job of organising us to dress up today. We tried to link with some of our recent learning, so there were 1960s fashions, Circus performers and some sailors on show. Year 5 and 6 pupils led a brilliant assembly which made us laugh and helped us to think about the reason we were raising money.
We were really pleased to be invited to take part in a multi-sport event at QECC. The whole of Year 5 went and were congratulated for their superb sporting and general behaviour.
We were joined today by children from Cheriton Fitzpaine who came to rehearse the songs we will be singing at Exeter Cathedral on the 5th March.
Year 6 were learning outside this afternoon, working together to complete a construction challenge. They were focussing on 'positive communication' in particular and there were some great examples of children encouraging one another and working together in teams.
Y3 had a visit from Caroline Cox (James and Sophie's mum) who taught them how to keep their teeth healthy.
We are really grateful to Jenny Hatchell for the visits she has made to talk to KS2 about space and the solar-system. We all enjoyed listening and seeing the things she had brought in. Mr. Gower has now learnt the difference between big and massive.
